Example projects

The guides in this section walk through the code snippet by snippet. If you'd rather clone something that already runs and read it from the inside, there are two open repositories with the whole integration: installing the app on a store and checkout with tokenization, end to end.

Pick by stack — both cover the same flow, with different emphases.

The PHP repository grew out of the Apple Pay work, and is the more complete one on payment methods. The Next.js one goes deeper into the Appmax JS contract inside a SPA — DOM mount order, the init() forms and what to do with the external_id.

Neither one is production code

They are test benches: the configuration screens have no authentication, and secrets sit in SQLite without encryption. Their own READMEs list what has to change before anything like this goes live. Use sandbox credentials.

Where to start

  1. Create an application in the dashboard — see Create application.
  2. Run the project behind a public HTTPS tunnel: Appmax cannot reach localhost, neither for the installation health check nor for Apple Pay.
  3. Run the installation from the project's own screen and keep the external_id the health check returned — that's what the checkout uses. See external-id.
